How to make a video longer with AI

Pick a clip and the AI generates 5 or 8 more seconds of it, continuing the motion and style rather than looping or freezing. In the Photo to Video app for iPhone this is Extend mode. It is one of the cheapest per second in the app, and it works on generated clips and camera-roll footage alike.

Steps

1. Open Extend. In the app, go to Modes and choose Extend.
2. Pick the clip to continue. Either something you generated or a video from your camera roll.
3. Choose 5 or 8 extra seconds. Those are the two lengths available.
4. Choose a resolution. 360p through 1080p.
5. Generate and save. The new clip carries on from where the original ended.

Which model to use

This mode runs on PixVerse, with a Standard and a Fast tier. Fast costs less and returns sooner; Standard holds detail better on busy footage. At roughly a seventh of the per-second rate of Edit Video, extending is one of the cheaper things you can do here.

Getting a better result

• Extend clips that end mid-movement. A clip that has already come to rest gives the model nothing to continue.
• Extend before you upscale, not after — otherwise you pay to sharpen frames you are about to add to.
• Chain extensions to go further than 8 seconds, checking each pass; drift accumulates.
• A short prompt helps when you want the continuation to go somewhere specific rather than simply carry on.

A clip that has already come to rest gives the model nothing to continue, so extensions of static endings look invented. Drift compounds when you chain passes — check each rather than stacking three and hoping. Only 5 or 8 seconds per pass.
